Investigators continue to probe fatal Hadley crash that took life of 24-year-old Amherst motorcyclist Daniel Haley

The state police accident reconstruction team is assisting in the investigation.


HADLEY
– Investigators continue to probe an alleged wrong-way accident on Route 116 that took the life of a 24-year-old Amherst motorcyclist early Saturday morning.

Daniel Haley, of Amherst, was fatally injured while riding on Route 116 at about 2:20 a.m. The drivers of the two others cars involved in the crash were taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and are recovering, police said.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette reported that Haley was struck by Brittini Benton, 24, of 118 Reservoir Road, Sunderland, who was allegedly driving her Volvo southbound in the northbound lane of Route 116.

Benton, taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield by helicopter, was treated and released, police said.

Jon Weeks, 57, of Leyden, who was taken to Baysrate by ambulance, was in good condition at Baystate on Sunday, police said.

Baystate did not have any information on Weeks Monday.

Massachusetts State Police reconstruction team is assisting in investigating the accident.
