AMHERST – University of Massachusetts Police are seeking a student wanted for assault with attempt to rape, kidnapping and other charges following two separate attacks on female students Friday night.

Detectives have received an arrest warrant for Luther Gorahkov, of 47 Fairview Ave. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall with light facial hair and wearing a red sweatshirt.

According to an alert posted on the University of Massachusetts Police Department website, both incidents occurred between 5 and 6:10 p.m.

The first occurred at the Isenberg School of Management when the lone male suspect approached the victim and stated, “You need to come with me,” while attempting to grab the victim’s arm. The victim resisted and the suspect fled the area.

The second reported incident was an assault and battery that occurred on the first floor women’s bathroom at Morrill Science Building No. 3.

The male suspect followed the female victim into the women’s bathroom, later blocking her path as she attempted to exit. The suspect then proceeded to push the victim against a wall in an attempt to force her to the floor. The victim resisted, called for help, which led to the suspect fleeing.
