Steven SamsonAMHERST – Amherst and state police arrested a 21-year-old University of Massachusetts student early Tuesday after raiding a North Pleasant Street home and seizing large quantities of psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.
Steven Samson, of 14 Salerno Road, Enfield, was charged with possession of psilocybin with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and violation of a drug-free school zone (Kendrick Park), Lt. Ronald A. Young said.
Police also seized several thousand dollars.
The execution of the search warrant at 314 North Pleasant St. followed a joint investigation between the two law enforcement agencies, Young said. Police raided the home about 2:10 a.m.
Samson is slated to be arraigned Tuesday at the Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown. Young said the investigation is ongoing.
