Amherst police arrest 21-year-old Lawrence resident Jamie Adames after he allegedly threatened pub employee with loaded handgun

Employees of the English Pub on East Pleasant Street struggled to gain control of the gun.

AMHERST - Police arrested a 21-year-old Lawrence man Thursday night after he allegedly pulled a gun from the waistband of his pants and threatened an employee of the English Pub on East Pleasant Street.

Lt. Ronald A. Young said the suspect had been a patron inside the pub and was asked to leave. The suspect, Jamie A. Adames, of 3 Fulton St., Lawrence, then threatened that employee with the gun.

Employees fought with Adames to gain control of the firearm until police could arrive, Young said. A loaded 9mm pistol was found at the scene.

No shots were fired and no major injuries were reported.

Adames has no afiliation within the Five Colleges area.

Adames was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.
